YIN YOGA

This is a ​​Heart Fire Yoga Collective 300HR Advanced Studies Teacher Training module. They are open to all, you do not need to be enrolled in our 300-hour program to take this training. Full attendance required for 300-hour credit.

Imagine stillness, imagine silence, imagine sitting with your thoughts and emotions, all while in the midst of physical sensations. In this training you'll focus on the meditative practices of Yin Yoga. Yin is a unique way to deepen your yoga practice and touch tissues rarely worked in a more active yang style of yoga. Asana, Pranayama, Mantra, and Mudra will be incorporated to facilitate the meditative aspects of the physical practice. This training is not just for yoga teachers. Anyone with an interest to learn more about Yin Yoga is welcome to attend.

CURRICULUM

  • Knowledge of the Philosophy and Practice of Yin Yoga

  • Understanding of the practical benefits of Yin Yoga: physically, energetically and mentally

  • Learning the difference between Yin and Yang styles of Yoga

  • Knowing what stops you and the difference between Tension and Compression

  • Understanding Energy including Prana, Qi (chi) & the Meridians and Western energy medicine

  • Exploring Eastern mindfulness practices within your yoga practice

  • Working through the most common Yin Yoga asanas

  • Practice in teaching Yin Yoga classes

  • How to blend a flowing asana practice with yin

  • A Yin Yoga workbook
